  1. Hawick is the logical destination for a partially re-opened Borders Railway. Carlisle is the essential destination for a re-opened Borders Railway, enabling travel to the south to be made by rail, with the numerous connections available there. Freight by rail (particularly Kielder timber) is another reason to re-open the entire route.

  2. Quite agree with Michaels comment.

    Hawick with the Melrose station reopened is obviously the next goal.

    Melrose station being slap bang next to a main road would be very interesting as a park and ride.

    But we need to make sure that double tracking is done for the rest of the route.
